We'll have the big top up, lots of food trucks, and plenty of delicious beverages! We'll be tapping a few goodies on Friday as we warm up for the Giant release on Saturday at 11a.
**2019 Quiet Giant Variants**
Coffee - Aged 1 year in Bourbon barrels. After barrel aging we added a special blend of coffee from Ten Drops Coffee and a bit of real vanilla beans.
Coconut/Cinnamon - Aged 1 year in Bourbon barrels. After barrel aging we added real toasted coconut, Ceylon cinnamon sticks, and a bit of real vanilla beans.
Blueberry Rye - Aged 1 year in Woodford Reserve Rye Whiskey barrels with 100% real Blueberry juice added to the barrels. Adding the fruit to the barrels allows the simple sugars to ferment, preventing the beer from becoming overly sweet.
Double Barrel - Aged for 7 months in Breckenridge Port/Bourbon barrels and then for 3 months in Copper and Kings Brandy barrels. The result is a strong sipper with a complex fruit character.
2 Year - Aged a full 2 years in Four Roses Bourbon barrels.
4:00 pm - 2:00 am 🍺 Pours for Lurie
The Green Lady, 3328 N. Lincoln Ave., Chicago (773) 525-5571 🌎
Join us for an evening with friends, both new and old, while drinking great beer for a special cause. 100% of draft beer, raffles, and silent auction proceeds will help fund the renovation of the 5th floor of Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago, which will feature 4 MRI rooms. The funds being raised will specifically go toward the art installments designed to calm children's fears and provide pleasant distractions, so they are able to complete necessary diagnostic tests. These rooms are cold, sterile, and the large machines are very loud. Transforming these environments can decrease the need for sedation during the challenging 90 minute procedure, which requires laying still. The colorful, engaging scenery will make the room feel warm and appealing to kids of all ages, and reduce the anxiety and stress of having an MRI.
The event will be CASH ONLY to ensure the fastest possible service and an ATM will be available on-site.
More details on the Raffles and Silent Auctions are coming soon.

This project began in September 2018 when Doug Veliky (Revolution's CFO) met Mitchell Hill (former Revolution Sales Intern). Mitchell was fundraising to convert an MRI room at a Lurie Outpatient Facility, including the scanner itself, into an art display. Mitchell was just coming off brain surgery a few weeks prior, after having multiple as a young child. After 41 MRIs, this project really hit home for Mitchell.
Doug and his wife Alma have spent many days at Lurie, where their son Edin had a success surgery at 7 months of age, to remove a Congenital Pulmonary Airway Malformation (CPAM). Edin is now a healthy, feisty 3.5 year old with a new baby sister. This experience made the Velikys anxious to do more than just donating to Mitchell's initial project.
Lurie is currently renovating their 5th floor where MRIs are administered, while expanding from 3 to 4 rooms/scanners. They are looking to create an art installment that extends throughout the entire floor and into each of the 4 rooms. The theme will be the 4 seasons. Doug and Alma started a personal raise to fund 1/4 of the project using their love of photography.
After announcing the project, Melani Domingues, owner of The Green Lady craft beer bar in Lakeview reached out to Doug. Melani's daughter experienced multiple MRIs as a child before an eventual surgery. Melani said to Doug, "let's have an event and fund a 2nd of the 4 rooms!". And here we are, raising for the "Spring" MRI room, which is mocked up in the event graphic.
Thank you for reading and supporting our project. Reach out to Doug at email@example.com if you have any questions and would like to support the event in any way possible.
