The Open Bottle, 7101 183rd St. #105, Tinley Park, IL 708-247-3757 🌎
Back in October we flew down to Oklahoma City to brew a beer with our friends at Prairie Artisan Ales! We're excited to finally share this beer with all of you fine folks here in IL! Join us THIS FRIDAY (4/5) at 5pm as we tap Ya Gotta Horchata (said in your best Chicago accent), our 15.8% imperial milk stout with rice, vanilla, lactose, and cinnamon.
Horchata de arroz is a Mexican-style rice milk drink that's traditionally made with vanilla and cinnamon. It's sweet, creamy, and a wonderful treat to enjoy after scarfing down some tacos. Our love for horchata is everlasting, and because of that, we thought it'd be fun to mimic those flavors in our collab with Prairie.
Prairie first tapped Ya Gotta Horchata in January, and it's been getting rave reviews (check out Untappd, if that means anything to you). It's bold at 15.8%, creamy, and full of cinnamon and vanilla. It's  draft only (sorry, no bottles or cans), and The Open Bottle will be the only place outside of Oklahoma tapping it! So come visit :)
Thank you to the crew at Prairie for their hospitality and letting us poke around the brewery, pick your brains, and show us the OKC life! Special thanks to Micki, Reed, and Greg!
Ya Gotta Horchata will FIRST be tapped on Thursday (4/4) at 5pm for The Society of Distinguished Beer Wizards (our membership program)!

5:30 - 7:30 pm 🍺 An Evening with Kings & Convicts
Beer on the Wall, 106 Main St., Park Ridge, IL 312-720-3732 🌎
A little history lesson is helpful when getting to know this Highwood brewery and their brewers:
England shipped tens of thousands of convicts to Australia over the course of 90 years starting in the late 1700s. The other piece to this trifecta of countries is something most of us learned back in elementary school; the Revolution and Washington and freedom and stuff.
All this history helped form Kings & Convicts Brewing Co.! All three countries have quite the historical record for drinking beer, and this local brewery is paying homage to it all with clean and easy pilsners to delicious ales like their King's Bitch IPA or Ned's Dead Stout. The stories are just getting started, so swing by the store for a taste of their local brews and get to know what makes this brewery both the king and the convict!
On Tap: TBD
Beer To-Go: TBD

5:38 - 11:59 pm 🍺 First Friday: Featuring Founders Brewery & Endo-1
Gillerson's Grubbery, 33 W. New York St., Aurora, IL 630‑340‑3719 🌎
We have quite the exciting First Friday planned for tomorrow night! 6 Founders Brewing Co. will be on tap: KBS, CBS, Blushing Monk, Backwoods Bastard, Curmudgeon, and Curmudgeon’s Better Half. Those will get tapped at 5:38 pm and be available until we run out.
Also, we have a little story to share with you all about who our vendor will be. A couple weeks ago, we saw on the What’s Happening in Aurora page, a local clothing/graphic designer post about how he designed a shirt with a focus on downtown Aurora (he even made a video!). He requested some opinions and people showed their appreciation and support for it. It caught our eye so we reached out and asked him if he wanted to be our vendor for the month’s Aurora Downtown First Friday.
To say he was thrilled is an understatement! We are excited to have Luis Alberto from ENDO-1 and give him an opportunity to get more eyeballs on his awesome shirt.
If you would like to see what his design looks like, watch this video OR…just come in and see it in person!
