We're celebrating the HopCat family's 11th anniversary on Saturday the 19th with a killer lineup of beers on tap, FREE COSMIK FRIES from 11am-5pm and the annual Fries Eating Contest.
The contest begins at 3pm. A $5 donation for each contestant will be collected before the competition. HopCat will match the donation to be given to PAWS Chicago. Sign up in advance by emailing our General Manager, Koni Kleinman at [email protected]
The first place winner will receive a HopCat prize package valued at $500 and the chance to compete for the grand prize – $2,000 – and eternal glory at the Michigan Summer Beer Festival in Ypsilanti, MI on Saturday, July 27, 2019. Second place gets a HopCat prize package valued at $100. Third place receives a HopCat prize package valued at $25.

On December 28 we began the pre-sale of Most Important Beverage of the Day, Beverage of Champions, Beverage of Champions Rock & Rye, and for the first time ever Beverage of Champions Caramel, Beverage of Champions Coconut, and Beverage of Champions Hazelnut. All six beers will be available for pickup at a celebration on Saturday, January 19 from 11AM-3PM and Toasty Cheese Mobile Eatery will be there with the cheesy goods.

In response to the destructive Camp Fire in Northern California, Sierra Nevada Brewing Co. announced plans to brew Resilience Butte County Proud IPA as a fundraiser, where 100% of sales are donated to the Camp Fire Relief Fund. They asked every brewery in the country to brew it with them, and more than 1,400 jumped at the opportunity to help, including 15 in the Chicago area.
We put together the Resilience Beer Tour so we could visit as many of the participating breweries as possible and we want you to join us! Our route will include Dovetail, Goose Island, Haymarket, Elmhurst, Alter, and Marz. Your purchased ticket is good for one pint, including tip, of Resilience IPA at each of the 6 breweries. Come thirsty and feel good knowing that you are drinking great beer for a great cause!
Reggie's has kindly donated transportation and we will leave from there at 11:30 a.m. sharp. They open at 11:00 a.m. and we advise coming a little early to pick out your seats on the bus.
We plan to return to Reggie's around 6:00 p.m.
